Jakob Kelsey, Sales Executive

Q: What is your background?

I’ve been involved with new car sales for over 11years. I started with Toyota, where I stayed for over 6 years, selling 318 Toyotas in a single year earning me a call from Lexus. I’ve since been with Lexus over 5 years.

Q: What did you want to be growing up?

I wanted to be an accountant actually. I was quite good at maths and economics at school. I was half way through a commerce degree majoring in accountancy when I deferred for 12 months and took a job with Toyota.

Q: What attracted you to a career in the automotive industry?

I’ve always enjoyed dealing with people and selling. Mix that with a keen interest in not just cars but the latest in automotive technology and I’m very well placed.

Q: What do you do at Sydney City Lexus?

I’m Senior sales executive of Lexus new vehicle sales. I’ve been selling Lexus here longer than any of our 8 other sales executives. I’ve established some great customer relationships and look after a lot of our long term customers.

Q: What has been your greatest achievement?

Lexus was released into Australia in 1990 and I started with Lexus in 1999. After giving a 9 year head start to some of the field, I have managed to sell enough new Lexus to be listed in the top 10 Lexus sales list Australia wide since 1990.

Q: What do you believe has been the main key to your success?

I believe enjoying what you do is a big factor in determining whether you will do well in any field.

Q: What do you find the most rewarding about working at Sydney City Lexus?
