Once behind the wheel of the CT 200h you'd be forgiven for thinking you own two vehicles, each with a distinct personality, because the CT 200h can respond in an instant to your mood and driving style. We call it Two Mood - Two Mode.
From the heart-racing excitement of a sportier drive to a more relaxed driving style, the CT 200h responds differently depending on the drive mode selected. The interior lighting transforms with the mode, from a serene blue to a thrilling red. In SPORT mode the steering and accelerator calibration sharpen up and the stability control changes to a sportier setting.

Two Mood - Two Mode
The CT 200h is about the sheer pleasure of the drive, whatever mood you're in. Drive Mode Select lets you make the most of the superb performance capabilities of the CT 200h in all situations. Two Mood - Two Mode enables you to choose between the more relaxed modes of EV, ECO and NORMAL or the exhilarating SPORT mode. Press the EV switch to operate on electric power only, possible only on a full hybrid vehicle like the CT 200h. A turn of the Drive Mode Select dial to ECO mode, and the air conditioning and throttle response is adjusted for the best possible fuel economy. Throttle response increases further in NORMAL mode for smooth acceleration. When SPORT mode is chosen, you're in completely different territory. SPORT mode maximises the CT 200h's drivetrain performance and handling abilities and makes it more responsive as you steer and accelerate for an unforgettable driving experience.
More control over performance
Drive Mode Select directly controls key system features of the CT 200h. Electric Power Steering that provides greater assistance at slower speeds for easy parking, for example, offers less assistance at higher speeds in SPORT mode for a more responsive feel. As well as the throttle being more responsive, in SPORT mode Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control adjusts to be less intrusive, allowing the CT 200h to be more in tune with the driver's steering and acceleration.
The power of Lexus Hybrid Drive
Without compromising on performance, the CT 200h delivers world class fuel economy and environmental performance. An advanced 1.8 litre, 4 cylinder Atkinson Cycle VVT-i petrol engine works seamlessly with a high-output electric motor. Lexus Hybrid Drive works intelligently to optimise the CT 200h's performance and maximise fuel efficiency every second you're behind the wheel, instinctively knowing when to use the engine, the motor, or both. Kinetic energy, the energy of motion, is converted to electrical energy and used to recharge the hybrid battery when slowing.
New performance dampers
In a Lexus first, performance dampers are standard on the F Sport and Sports Luxury models. Found on a very limited number of performance cars, these performance body dampers are located in the front and rear of the CT 200h and have been carefully tuned to increase overall stability and suppress road vibration as well as body distortion when cornering.
Double wishbone rear suspension
The CT 200h has a trailing arm double wishbone rear suspension. The suspension has enhanced roll rigidity and unsprung weight is reduced with exclusively developed and lightened parts, resulting in excellent agility and ride comfort. The F Sport features unique suspension tuning for an even sportier performance, with adjustments made to the shock absorbers and coil spring rate on both the front and rear suspension.
Perfect balance
The highly rigid yet light body design and ultra-competent chassis of the CT 200h has resulted in impressive driving dynamics. The vehicle's occupants lower its centre of gravity height, ensuring agile manoeuvrability. The hybrid battery is located above the rear wheel axis, balancing out the weight of the engine and optimising the CT 200h's front/rear weight distribution.

A captivating silhouette
With its low profile and sturdy stance, the CT 200h looks more than ready to tackle whatever lies ahead. The impressive front grill and elevated headlights add to its energetic look. From above and the side, the vehicle's shape is a visual impression of the flow of air, with the body naturally curving in at the rear to follow its movement as it flows into the CT 200h's wake. The drag coefficient minimises drag and translates directly into fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The emphasis on the wheels and strong fender design adds to the impression of momentum.
More options, more expression
Choose from ten exterior colours, including the all new Solar Flare and Volcanic Bronze, with nine of the colours featuring metallic paint at no extra cost. Take your pick from serene hues such as White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Graphite, Onyx, Blue Pearl and Elysium Blue or exhilarating Vermillion and Flame Blue. Choose ten spoke 16" alloys with an intricate design on the Prestige model or 17" alloys on F Sport and Sports Luxury models. As well as normal front and rear bumpers, sports bumpers and side skirts are available on Sports Luxury and are standard on F Sport. All models feature a rear roof level spoiler to improve aerodynamic performance, with a larger rear spoiler standard on F Sport and Sports Luxury (when sports bumpers are selected) for maximum aerodynamic performance and visual impact.
F Sport's unique exterior
F Sport lives up to the promise of its name with a number of exterior features exclusive to this model such as a unique front mesh upper grille, dark smoke finish alloy wheels, rear and rear-side privacy glass and F Sport badging. The F Sport has an additional exterior colour option of Flame Blue.
Innovative design
The optional moonroof tilts up externally before sliding back in a Lexus first. This innovation means interior headroom is not sacrificed while the opened moonroof sits in the roof lining. The moonroof features jam protection, a sunshade and an automatic deflector to minimise wind noise when it's open.
Everything illuminated
Daytime running lights (DRLs) at the lower edge of the front headlights use nine Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The DRLs activate when the CT 200h is started, making the vehicle highly visible to other vehicles and pedestrians. This additional lighting is particularly effective at dawn and dusk when ambient light levels are low but glare is present. As well as the DRLs, LEDs are used in the tail lamps, stop lamps, shift lever illuminator, rear view mirror indicators and in the high mount stop lamp. LEDs illuminate faster than conventional bulbs, alerting other vehicles to the driver's braking a split second earlier. They last longer than conventional bulbs and consume up to 45% less power.
More than a mirror
The exterior mirrors have been exclusively and meticulously designed for the CT 200h, taking design cues from the LFA Supercar. While compact and aerodynamic, they provide ample visibility and have a turn signal indicator located in the lower area. The mirrors are electric, heated, have puddle lamps and are rain dispersing. F Sport and Sports Luxury mirrors can retract automatically when the vehicle is locked, are self-dimming and automatically dip when reversing.
Interior
With a captivating driver's cockpit placing the driver at the heart of the CT 200h experience and a spacious cabin optimised for passenger comfort, the luxurious interior fuses innovative design and cutting edge technology.
Two Mood - Two Mode
By switching to SPORT mode the interior lighting changes from a serene blue to a pulse-raising red, reflecting your driving mood. In Sport drive mode, the Hybrid System Indicator on the instrument panel also switches to display a tachometer. On the Sports Luxury and F Sport models, linking ambient lighting to the drive mode is a world first and visually captures the thrill of driving the CT 200h.
Focused on driving pleasure
The CT 200h interior immediately sets the mood for an exhilarating driving experience. With a lowered seat position placing the driver's hip point 535mm above the ground, the driver is close to the vehicle's centre of gravity and fully in touch with its movement. Optimal pedal placement and the Lexus LFA Supercar-inspired steering wheel with a 21 degree adjustment range delivers the sportiest driving position of any Lexus, bar the LFA.
Display and Operation zones
Everything needed to drive the CT 200h is easily reached without altering the driver's posture. For ease of operation, the dash and centre console of the CT 200h are divided into Display and Operation zones. The Display zone offers a wealth of information at eye level. Functions and customisable vehicle settings can be easily accessed via the steering wheel controls. The lower Operation zone centres on the Drive Mode Select switch used for Two Mood - Two Mode. Models with the fold out 7" navigation screen(1) feature the Lexus Remote Touch that behaves like a computer mouse to remotely control navigation, audio, mobile phone and more at the touch of the driver's fingertips.
Unexpected space and comfort
Slimmer front seatbacks and the FF (front engine, front wheel drive) platform results in generous leg room for everyone in the CT 200h. The rear seats are positioned 25mm higher than the front seats, opening up the passengers' view and giving a feeling of openness. The boot provides an impressive 375 litres of luggage space, which increases to 985 litres when the rear seats are lowered.
Sensational audio experience
The 6 or 10 speaker systems use bamboo and charcoal materials in a Lexus and industry first. This resin technology delivers rich sound quality while being considerably less C02 intensive to manufacture than comparable materials. The audio system has USB/AUX inputs for iPods(2) or MP3/WMA flash drives and there's a convenient holder suitable for smart phones or audio devices. The Lexus Premium 10 speaker six disc CD changer features a new high performance eight channel class D amplifier, resulting in reduced distortion, increased clarity and high quality sound even at low volume.

Luxurious materials
The CT 200h is available in both fabric and leather accented trim in a range of colours. In the Prestige model, super-fine fibres form the exquisitely woven texture of the fabric trim, which is smooth to the touch with a brilliant sheen. Three leather-accented trim colours are available on all models and a unique black leather-accented trim on F Sport. For the first time, a genuine bamboo woodgrain dash option is available with the Sports Luxury model.
Black fabric trim includes perforation on the inner seat panels.
Ivory Splash fabric trim includes perforation and a unique pattern on the inner seat panels that resembles the exact moment when paint is mixed with with water.
Red & Black (Redback) combination fabric trim has perforated red inner seat trim with black bolsters and headrest, and red door inserts.
Leather-accented trim
Leather-accented trim is available in three colours - a classic Black, a warm and bright Ivory and a clean and advanced Water White (Bluish Grey). The leather accents extend to the door insert on all models with leather, and to the centre console box (armrest) lid on Luxury and Sports Luxury models.
Seat inners are perforated.
Dash ornament
The standard finish for the dash ornament above the glovebox is black and is found on the Prestige and Luxury models.
Sports Luxury models feature a woodgrain-look dash ornament to further add to the premium feel. The standard woodgrain look trim is Dark Brown Ash that coordinates well with any interior colour scheme. The woodgrain look has a matte finish that highlights the woods natural texture.
In a Lexus first, customers can also choose a newly-developed Bamboo ornament. Laminated and bonded real bamboo has been finely slices (approx 5mm thick) creating a warm yet intricate effect with lines that seem to float above the surface.
Bamboo can be grown and harvested in three years which allow for a marked reduction in environmental impact, fitting for use in a hybrid vehicle.
Safety
A body structure that represents state-of-the-art safety and an integrated system of advanced safety technology means the CT 200h provides the reassurance you'd expect from a Lexus vehicle, so you can focus on the thrill of the journey.
Protection for driver and passengers
Eight airbags are standard on the CT 200h to surround and protect the driver and passengers. These include dual stage driver and passenger twin chamber front airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seat side airbags and full length curtain shield airbags. The vehicle also features Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) front seats to reduce whiplash in the event of a rear collision. These newly developed WIL seats have reinforced seat frames that allow the lower body to sink into the seatback while the forward placed headrests support the head sooner.
Advanced technology to keep you safe
The comprehensive active safety package consists of the Anti-skid Brake System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Brake Assist, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control. All models also feature the convenience of Hill-start Assist Control which can prevent roll-back when starting on steep hills and works in both drive and reverse. The intelligent CT 200h is equipped with a flashing emergency brake signal that sees the brake lights flash at high speed when the driver suddenly brakes hard above 55 km/h, helping to alert the drivers behind them so they can brake sooner.
Pre Collision-safety System (PCS) (1)
In a first for its class, the Sports Luxury model is equipped with PCS which uses a radar sensor to detect an obstacle or vehicle on the road ahead and predict a collision. The system alerts the driver then activates Pre Collision Seat Belts and Pre Collision Break Assist if necessary. If the system then senses a collision is unavoidable and the driver hasn't yet braked or taken evasive action, Pre Collision Braking will be activated to reduce speed, damage and potential injury.
Rear Seatbelt Monitor
A Rear Seatbelt Monitor is available for the first time in a Lexus, which is displayed in the Multi Information Display. The driver can check if the three dots representing the three back seats have disappeared from the display, indicating that the three rear seatbelts have been fastened. This is a handy feature when there are young children in the back seat.
Rear View Camera (2)
In selected Option Packs, a Rear View Camera is available as part of the interior rearview mirror for the first time in an Australian Lexus vehicle. A 3.3" image from the rear of the vehicle is displayed on the left hand side of the mirror when the driver selects reverse. Fixed rear guidelines are also displayed to simplify parking and the image disappears when another gear is selected. Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury models feature a Rear View Camera with Rear Guide Assist graphics on the Navigation screen. This improves safety and makes parking easier as the rear of the vehicle and its predicted path appears on the screen.
An emphasis on pedestrian safety
In addition to an impact-absorbing body engineered to help protect passengers in the event of an accident, consideration has been given in the CT 200h to pedestrian protection. The front of the vehicle, from the bumper to the wiper system, incorporates design features and energy-absorbing materials to help reduce the impact received by a pedestrian and reduce injury.
