Electrochromatic Mirrors

The exterior mirrors feature a sleek, aerodynamic look which also reduces wind noise and now incorporate turn indicators for safety. Being electrochromatic mirrors, they automatically dim to quell the annoyance of headlamp glare from following motorists at night.

Easy access with Smart Key

Step inside with minimal delay as Smart Key allows you to unlock the doors by simply gripping the handle, without ever taking the key from your pocket. After placing your foot on the brake, you can start the car with similar ease, at the touch of a button. The GS 300 Sports Luxury now comes with the new slim Smart Key Card. With dimensions around the same as a conventional credit card, the Smart Key Card slips easily into your pocket. It also has a conventional key enclosed for emergency use.

Stylish 7-spoke 17" alloy wheels with low profile tyres contribute to the dynamic styling as well as impressive cornering capabilities of the GS 300.

Radar technology monitors the road ahead*

The distinctive front grille design is smart as well as stylish. In the GS300 Sports Luxury, a radar sensor is discreetly incorporated into the grille which works as part of the Active Cruise Control (ACC)* and Pre-Collision safety System (PCS)* to monitor the road ahead.

Feel the roadholding of a flat underbody

Not only does the body styling contribute to impressive aerodynamics for a low drag coefficient, the flat underbody has been optimised to enhance airflow, while also contributing to roadholding.

See clearly through rain repellent windows

For a clearer vision on rainy days, a water repellent coating on the front side windows accelerates dispersion of water droplets as you drive.

Visibly better rain sensing wipers

To allow you to keep your mind focused on your driving, the GS is equipped with rain sensing wipers. When in 'Auto Mode', the wipers activate the moment the sensor detects the first drops of rain falling on the windscreen.

The comfort of UV reducing glass

The windows in the doors, rear door quarters and the rear window are a UV-reducing tinted glass. This reduces sunlight into the cabin for a cooler cabin, increased comfort and visibility.

Power operated moonroof

In the GS 300 Sports Luxury, you can bring the ambience of the outdoors in with fingertip ease, via the power-operated moonroof. Optional on 'Sport'.

Glare–resistant instrumentation

For optimum instrument readability even in bright sunlight, there's an Electro–Chromatic Device (ECD) system installed in the meter glass of the dash. It controls sunlight reflection by day and enhances the readout visibility at night, allowing the instrumentation to keep you informed at all times.

Refined Interior Treatment

Refined design around the EMV display, and a metallic finish on the meter faces and gear shifter face plate complements the clean, contemporary look of the GS interior.

Climate controlled seats with memory

Whatever the weather, you'll have the comfort of climate controlled front seats keeping you refreshed on long hot journeys or toasty warm on cool days. The eight–way power adjustment lets you easily tailor settings to maintain your preferred posture. If another driver has been in your car, the memory function allows personalised settings to be instantly recalled by the touch of a button.

In the GS 300 Sports Luxury, simply register your Bluetooth®* compatible mobile with the inbuilt system for hands free communication. Call functions are right at your fingertips via the EMV screen, letting you search the phone book, register and receive calls.

DVD–based Satellite Navigation⁺ shows the way

You'll be directed efficiently to your destination by an advanced Satellite Navigation** system. Being a DVD–based system it displays the three most efficient routes to your destination on the Electro Multi Vision (EMV) screen faster than you can unfold a paper map. You'll be guided by visual maps and spoken commands, making paper maps a thing of the past.

Rear View Camera for easier reversing

The GS 300 Sports Luxury has Satellite Navigation. Both GS 300 and GS 300 Sports Luxury have the guidance of a Rear View Camera***, discreetly mounted above the license plate. Select reverse and a colour image of what is immediately behind your rear bumper appears on the Electro Multi Vision (EMV) screen. Rear Guide Assist gives you a more precise indication of distances, allowing the driver to line up the vehicle more precisely for easier parking and reversing.

Power rear sunshade

To reduce glare, an electric rear sunshade emerges at the touch of a button for greater passenger comfort in the Sports Luxury model.

Responsive Direct Injection V6

Feel the acceleration of the Direct Injection 3.0–litre V6. Remarkably, it also delivers impressive fuel economy and low emissions. Advanced design Swirl Control Valves and dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT–i) operating on the intake and exhaust camshafts further improves efficiency and response at all engine speeds.

Sequential six–speed automatic

In Sequential Shifting mode, you have the performance driving dynamics of a manual. Or for seamlessly smooth shifts, advanced software in the close ratio six–speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with Artificial Intelligence delivers brisk, seamless acceleration.

Comfort and control with Active Variable Suspension

You can fine tune GS 300's dampers to 'normal' and 'sports' settings with the Active Variable Suspension (AVS). It gives you the option of tailoring the ride for enhanced handling and superb comfort, all at the touch of a button.

Active Safety Technology

GS 300 has a comprehensive package of technologies to provide greater active safety, including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control. The braking system combines an Anti–lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake–force Distribution (EBD).

The confidence of Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM)

Should you encounter challenging road conditions, an advanced Vehicle Dynamics Integrated management (VDIM) system offers a greater sense of control. It integrates the braking and throttle control, for enhanced driveability.

Fingertip control with Electric Power Steering

For improved steering efficiency when parking, plus greater road feel at high speeds, the GS is equipped with an advanced Electric Power Steering system. This system dispenses with hydraulic hoses and pumps and only uses energy when turning, that improved fuel economy.

The reassurance of Pre–collision safety

For added peace of mind on GS 300 Sports Luxury, the Lexus Pre–Collision safety System (PCS) can help reduce collision injury and damage. A radar sensor in the front grille constantly scans for objects in front of the car. If the system determines that a collision is unavoidable , it retracts the front seatbelts and signals the Brake Assist system to increase braking force and hence help reduce collision speed.

Relax as Active Cruise Control watches ahead**

For more relaxed highway cruising, Active Cruise Control (ACC)** monitors the road to maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead. The radar sensor in the GS 300 Sports Luxury front grille works as part of the Active Cruise Control (ACC). You can simply set your preferred highway speed via touch controls on the steering wheel, or you can set your desired following distance from the vehicle in front. Then, should the radar detect that distance is closing or detect another vehicle in your path, Active Cruise Control reduces your speed and even applies the brakes if necessary. Your nominated speed is resumed once a safe following distance can be maintained.

Adaptive Front Lighting looks around corners

To give you greater night vision, GS 300 has halogen–type high–beam headlamps and self–levelling projector–type High Intensity Discharge (HID) low–beam headlamps. On twisty roads, the Adaptive Front–lighting System (AFS) redirects the low–beam lamps, so you can literally see around corners.

Feel at ease with 10 SRS airbags

In the event of a collision, Lexus GS 300 has a comprehensive package of ten SRS airbags. It has dual–stage driver and front–passenger airbags, large–size driver and front passenger side SRS airbags, SRS knee airbags to help protect the lower limbs of the driver and front seat passenger, SRS rear side airbags help protect the rear outer passengers, and full–length side curtain–shield airbags.

Responsive LED tail lights

The rear tail lights incorporate LED lamps that illuminate light up faster than conventional incandescent lamps. So when you apply the brakes, following traffic is alerted sooner.
