Adopting the uniquely Lexus styling direction known as L–finesse gives the LX 570 design cues that transcend the traditional 4WD design clichés. From the wide front grille that ensures ample engine cooling through to the rear spoiler, the LX 570 evokes an elegant design stance. Not surprisingly, it also results in enhanced aerodynamic performance for improved fuel economy and reduced interior noise. On the Sports Luxury, an aero body kit complements the vehicle's powerful on-road presence and flowing body lines. A lower bumper section instills a more commanding look to the frontal treatment, while at the rear a lower bumper skirt and roof mounted spoiler add further on-road presence.

Front and side view monitors for visibly easier parking**

A camera in the front grille of the Sports Luxury model provides extensive coverage of the area to the front of the vehicle displayed on the EMV screen. In addition, the passenger exterior mirror incorporates a side view camera that gives you an expansive view of the area immediately alongside the vehicle. Both cameras activate when the vehicle speed is below 10–12 km/h, to make driving the LX 570 Sports Luxury a real eye opener.

Adaptive Front Lighting System

When travelling around tight bends, an intelligent Adaptive Front–lighting System (AFS) redirects the projector–type low–beam headlamps, so you can literally see around corners.

Electrochromatic chromatic heated exterior mirrors

After dark, electrochromatic chromatic exterior mirrors quell the annoyance of headlamp glare from following traffic. They are also heated, activating whenever the rear demister is turned on. Then for easier reversing, they tilt down when reverse gear is selected, for an improved view of what's behind.

Quick reacting rain sensing wipers

You'll be able to keep your mind focused on your driving as rain sensing wipers activate on your behalf the moment that the sensor detects rain falling on the windscreen.

You can open or close the tailgate with fingertip ease, at the touch of the button beneath the tailgate or from the driver's seat.

Smart Key entry with Push Button Start

When you come within 0.7 - 1m of the vehicle, you can open the front doors simply by gripping the handle when you have your Smart Key in your possession. Once inside, you can start the engine at the touch of a button. Then afterwards, with the shift lever in 'Park' you can switch off the engine with similar ease.

The convenience of a Smart Key Card

The Sports Luxury offers you the convenience of a credit card sized Smart Key Card. While it offers all the 'smart' functions, there's more to it than meets the eye. Neatly concealed within the card is a conventional key, allowing you to open the doors in the event of a flat battery.

Come nightfall, spot lighting on the exterior mirror illuminates the area below the door at your feet. As you step inside, the interior footwells and controls are lit with a soft white light.

Exclusively in the LX 570 Sports Luxury model, the front and second row seats can be heated for a warm welcome on frosty mornings. Then on hot steamy days, the Sports Luxury model's front seats are air-conditioned for a more refreshing ride.

The personalised comfort of four-Zone climate control

Independent control allows four individual temperature settings to be maintained independently. So the two front seat occupants and second row seat occupants can each enjoy comfort levels independent of each other. Numerous air vents throughout the cabin ensure even circulation to all eight occupants.

To complement the interior, Lexus designers searched the world for a special timber look. They settled on the rare Bubinga woodgrain-look for its unique lustre and grain.

Power operated front seats.

Power adjustment of the front seats puts your optimum seat position right at your fingertips The driver's seat also has lumbar support and offers a memory function which allows you to instantly recall seat, steering and mirror adjustments at the touch of a button.

Power adjusted and retractable second-row of seats.

The second-row seats have a power slide function, allowing you to adjust the seat for increased legroom or luggage room, it's your choice. The seat backs are a 40/20/40 split design and you can retract each of the three3 seat sections at the touch of a button. This gives you progressively more cargo room, while still seating one or two passengers.

Fingertip control of the third-row of seats

The 50/50 split third-row folds away as neatly as origami. The third-row comes with full power operation. When no one's sitting in the seat, the rear centre headrest folds down for unrestricted rear visibility. So with three rows of seats, it adds up to seating for eight adults.

A cinema-like Rear Seat Entertainment system

Simply touch the control switch and a 9" LCD unfolds from the ceiling. So the second and third-row passengers can view DVD movies on the move, as the 19-speaker audio system delivers a cinema-like surround sound experience. With surround sound, it's built to the same quality standards as his famous in-home systems. Its six-disc in-dash CD/DVD changer allows you to play MP3/WMA formatted discs. A USB connector provides the functionality for flash memory drives and full iPod®^ control via the EMV (Electro Multi Vision) touch screen. A 5.7 litre V8 to conquer the toughest terrain

Developed especially for the LX 570, an all new Quad Cam V8 develops 270kW of power and 530 Nm of torque for towing and hill climbing. The engine's die cast alloy block features a unique rib layout optimised for greater strength and rigidity, to withstand the stresses of sustained off–road work.

Increased power and efficiency with Dual VVT–i

As your engine speed changes, the timing of the inlet and exhaust valves is continually being retuned for greater torque down low, and more power at higher engine speeds. Dual VVT–I also ensures enhanced fuel economy and lower emissions compliant with the latest Euro IV standards.

A six–speed transmission that anticipates what's ahead

An electronically controlled six–speed sequential automatic transmission was developed for the LX 570 to efficiently manage the vehicle's vast reserves of power. AI (Artificial Intelligence) Shift Control thinks ahead to enhance shifting performance on hills. On steep ascents, it selects the optimum gear in advance for improved hill climbing with minimum downshifts. Then on steep descents it increases the engine braking for greater control – by automatically downshifting.

The added grip of a TORSEN ® Limited Slip Differential

A TORSEN ® Limited Slip centre Differential (LSD) helps assign the correct amount of driving effort between the front and rear wheels, depending on your driving situation. Typically 60 per cent of effort is applied to the rear wheels and 40 per cent to the front. On corners or when a wheel begins to slip, this balance is altered to enhance traction.

Full Time 4WD with Active Traction Control (A–TRC)

All four wheels are driving at all times. Should a particular wheel begin to spin due to muddy or otherwise slippery conditions, Active Traction Control (A–TRC) helps restrain that wheel by applying braking force, allowing the other wheels with more grip to drive you forward. This ensures the correct amount of driving effort is applied to each of the four wheels at all times. A–TRC is particularly effective in getting you moving from standstill and when driving on slippery conditions.

Manage difficult off–road conditions with Crawl Control

You can think of Crawl Control as off–road traction control, an advanced technology that allows you to concentrate on steering the vehicle in difficult terrain. When driving along rocky or otherwise challenging off road trails, Crawl Control maintains a slow, steady rate of progress. Simply select your preferred speed using the switch near the shift lever and Crawl Control maintains that pace. Crawl Control is able to detect when a particular wheel is spinning faster than the others, then it applies braking pressure and controls engine output, to restrain wheel spin or lock–up.

There's no roll–back with Hill–start Assist Control

When climbing up steep slopes, a conventional vehicle can drift backwards when you take your foot off the brake and onto the accelerator pedal. Hill–start Assist Control (HAC)** momentarily applies the brakes to help keep the vehicle from slipping backwards as your foot moves to the accelerator.

Technology that helps maintain vehicle posture and control.

LX 570 has a state–of–the–art four–wheel hydro–pneumatic suspension package with Adaptive Variable Suspension and Active Height Control, to ensure optimum tyre contact with the road surface is maintained, while delivering a substantial reduction in body roll and an increase in ride comfort.

The system includes Anti–Dive Control and Anti–Squat Control to maintain vehicle posture under braking and acceleration. It also has Roll–posture Control: to ensure stability and controllability during cornering, increasing the damping force and therefore reducing rolling movement, and High–speed Control: to vary damper force according to vehicle speed, to increase comfort at low speeds and maintain vehicle posture at high speeds.

The versatility of Adaptive Variable Suspension

The versatility of Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) ensures comfort and control when you need it, automatically. Intelligently, AVS senses the terrain then tailors the damper settings for a smoother, more–responsive ride. Alternatively, you can select 'Comfort' or 'Sport' settings via a switch located beside the shift lever.

Clearance and control with Active Height Control

The LX 570 automatically adjusts its ride height to suit your driving and the terrain. Select L4, and the vehicle rises to its uppermost setting, for greater ground clearance over rocky terrain. At highway speeds it becomes progressively lower as speed increases, for greater control. A switch beside the shift level lets you tailor ride height to suit your preference.

VGRS Steering adapts to all driving situations

Power assisted, variable gear ratio (VGRS) rack and pinion steering gives you the benefit of not only maximum assistance when parking. It also offers precise steering with excellent response and road feel at higher speeds.

Pre–Collision Safety technology thinks ahead

A Pre–Collision Safety System (PCS) in the Sports Luxury model is designed to determine when a collision is unavoidable. It relays information to the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) to lower the vehicle and also pre–arms the Pre Collision Brake Assist, skid control and seatbelts to help reduce occupant injury.

Cruise easier with Active Cruise Control

The Sports Luxury model also features the reassurance of Adaptive Cruise Control. When cruising at highway speeds the millimetre wave radar sensor in the front grille monitors the road ahead. If it detects another vehicle ahead, Active Cruise Control (ACC) slows you down by controlling engine output and braking to help maintain a safe following distance.

Rigid Body Structure & Impact Absorbing Frame

The LX 570 is built on an extremely rigid, high tensile steel frame which incorporates an Energy Absorbing (EA) frontal section. This EA safety frame together with front crumple zones in the body panels are designed to absorb impact energy during a frontal collision. High tensile steel reinforcements around the cabin help ensure a rigid body structure, for greater occupant protection.

The confidence of 10 SRS airbags.

A comprehensive package of airbags includes dual stage front airbags which deploy in accordance with impact severity. For front seat occupants there are also dual knee airbags and seat mounted side airbags. For the 2nd row seats, should you be involved in a side collision, seat mounted side airbags help protect the outer occupants.

Side curtain shield airbags for all 3 rows of seats

In the event of a side collision, side curtain shield airbags, which are fitted as standard, deploy from above the doors to cover the side windows. These help protect the outer occupants in all three rows of seats.

Greater powers of restraint

Revolutionary whiplash–lessening front seats with active headrests are fitted as standard, which help reduce the risk of injury to the neck area. Seat belt pretensioners help provide restraint while 2–stage force limiters help alleviate impact on the body during a collision.

Multi Terrain ABS for slippery off–road conditions

To enhance stopping performance off–road, a multi–terrain Anti–lock Braking System (ABS) utilises an automatic hydraulic pressure control. This tailors braking response wheel by wheel for optimum performance on challenging surfaces like sand, mud and loose gravel. To compensate for changes in vehicle load, Electronic Brake–force Distribution adjusts braking effort applied to each wheel.

Safer cornering with Vehicle Stability Control

When cornering in wet or otherwise slippery conditions, Vehicle Stability Control can anticipate a skid. It then controls the braking system, engine output and the vehicle's steering system to help maintain your chosen line around the corner.

See in reverse with the Rear View Camera**

For safer reversing, a Rear View Camera is fitted as standard allows you to see objects that are difficult to see from the driver's seat. It displays a colour picture of what's immediately behind your rear bumper the moment you select reverse. Rear Guide Assist provides a series of reference lines to give you a more precise indication of distances.
